A free application allowing POI navigation inside of Europe.

POIBase is a free software navigation aide designed to help you find interesting places to visit within Europe.

Obviously, many of the popular navigational systems already include points of interest (POIs), but they aren't always that comprehensive. With POIBase, you get access to hundreds of thousands of different recommendations.

After you've installed the POIBase software, you have access to a huge database of places to go, no matter what type of navigational device you have; Garmin, Navigon, TomTom, Google, etc.

The points of interest here are broken down into several categories like gas stations, pharmacies, cultural sites, etc. It also includes tips on where speed cameras may be located, but these count as premium content.

POIBase can transfer all of your Points of Interest to most popular devices, so it's no problem having your own navigational device guide you there.

Overall, POIBase is an excellent idea and well-implemented. Unfortunately, there isn't yet a version for North America!
